OK,.... I know the channels as currently designated .... Ready?.... As one looks at the actual use of said channels it would make sense to use 17 (low power) to comunicate between passing vessels on...

I would like the Coast Guard designate VHF ch 17 as the "Passing Channel" so those moving down the waterway would not clutter up CH 16 with a bunch of "May I Pass " , "Yes, of course" " I'll slow...

As a sailboater I find the power boaters to be generally veryt good about wakes. If you call them or answer tham on the VHF they will do as you ask. I much prefer that they do not slow down and stay...
