I agree that it makes sense preventative maintenance the problem is that we need first to have information about that, information that does not exist in what regards stress and metal fatigue on keel...

In what regards those that sail on serious races under ISAF (now World sailing) ruling they would not have a say and will have to do what is necessary, including inspections, if they make them...

It is something you cannot see without taking the keel out. If a boat has more than 20 years a serious inception should be made even if no cracks appear on the hull, specially if the boat is used...

A Columbia 28 from 1969. They restored the old boat. I wonder if they put the keel down and substitute all the bolts. Ona boat with that age all metal parts need to be replaced.
