Correction: The 130s gearbox CAN stay in neutral when sailing. It's not like the ZF gearbox that rub the clutches if the propeller spins.

Volvo's reccomendations is to leave it in neutral if...

it works in both directions.
It just like an outboard, a pinion drive wich is identical for FWD or REV.

The 130s gearbox is unidirectional.
Remember to set the gearbox in your new reverse direction when sailing.
