We mostly sail the north shore of Lake Superior, so crowds are not a problem. If we even see another cruising sailor out here it is a cause for celebration! But we used to sail in the North Channel... |

OK, this is fascinating to me. Perhaps worthy of a new thread, but lets give it a try... According to your formula boatman, if I anchor in 10' of water I should put out: 3.5 x 37' (boat length)... |

Agreed :thumb: Again, this is not to say there aren't more complex situations, or when the plan goes off the rail -- in those cases verbal communications with the helm is probably necessary. But... |
