Thats all been argued out on here before,

But I will give one example,

A 2 inch hole, 36 inches below the water line sucks in 20,000 Litres per hour,

5500 Gallons per hour,

The only time you want or need a Bilge pump is usually at the worst possible times,

And they dont pump very much water either,

The GPS was going round in circles, Not me, I was going west at 7 knots, I was also drifting sideways north about 4 or 5 knots,

I knew precisely where I was, By this time, I had abandoned the GPS...

You bring up a good point, Ocean girl,
How long does it take to learn thoroughly all the systems on a cruising boat, Some of them are quite complicated,

Integrated GPS, Autopilot, Wind, Speed,...

After reading lots of posts on missing boats and broken gear,

I find people are not really looking into the Background causes of most of these incidents,

You wont have any thing breaking...
