Watch and learn. This used to be a great place to race back in the day.

Usually on a Saturday in September, it was a 30-32 mile distance race then a few buoy races on Sunday

Looks right to me which is why I described in the post above what worked best for me in light air with the traveler position being just one of the many changes made to make the boat go fast

That may be true, but they'd have to line up against 15-20 of the same designed boats as theirs to see if they are doing everything else correctly.

An inch or two of sheeting on the main or jib...

I excelled in light air races and never had to move the traveler passed centerline whether I had a square top main or not.

I learned sailing on inland lakes where on most days it was a drifter...

That's why you center the traveler and ease out the sails a bit.

You can tell it works when racing one design and your boat suddenly is faster than all the rest

You can leave the traveler centered. (Traveler too far to windward and the slot gets too wide) Mainsail eased a bit. Jib the same.
