Thank you, but my service was mostly tech schools and training to setup and troubleshooting Radar and IFF Systems at Forward Air Bases.

(we had large diesel generators that provided 3 Phase...

Yep, like I said I'm as guilty as many others of zeroing in on a certain subject. It's peculiar to tech/engineer types which I am/was/continue to be when not doing paperwork.

They just have different priorities than learning all there is to know about batteries in series or parallel

Yes, but after you have spent close to your budget on the boat and then the things you didn't think of ......well you then may try and cut corners.

So, I had a new sailor ask me the other day about batteries in series.

He says "I'm hearing it's best to put batteries in series to get the most out of them!"

Looks like he's an Engineering Tech, not an engineer.

There is quite a bit of difference between the two, and there are many variation of each and their knowledge. level

If you have your batteries in parallel and they are fused, I'm thinking they are as safe as batteries in series.

My batteries are now fused to the load and to each other.

I'm thinking internal is much better.

External connections on batteries located on boats is where most of your problems occur.

So the few connections there are the better..........
