Good advice (as is Taft's book) but I do have one quibble. Not all traps are set the same. Sometimes there are two pick-up buoys, sometimes not. I don't want anyone to think cutting lobster... |

And why I suggested taking it slow and enjoying the trip. You don't need a boat for hiking and buying souvenirs. I'd go so far as to say you're better off ashore if that's the point of the trip. ... |

There are great hotels and campgrounds in the Mt. Desert area. There's also an airport. Sounds like the boating part could easily be avoided entirely. I'm not trying to be snarky. Just offering... |

I can't argue with @Chotu's logic. But to me that sort of schedule feels like a delivery. In other words, work. It's a highly personal thing. I enjoy the journey at least as much as the destination.... |
