All mechanical drive land drilling and well service rigs have intake shut offs because the engines are close to the wellhead however all modern offshore drilling rigs are diesel electric and... |

In a mechanical style pump the rack is moved to a position which allows the fuel to bypass the metering section of the pump plungers. Don't know how they do it on a common rail system maybe just... |
