Agreed... I own several DC-DC converters and still suggest looking at the AC brick that comes with your computer, read the DC output rating (mine for example reads 19v 1.75a), and buy a DC 12v to DC...

Not sure about this, a lot of computers draw 18-19 volts, so you need a DC 12 to ~19 converter (like cigarette lighter style) that is compatible with each device.
