Doesn't look like 10foot, more like 3foot. Take at a look at the pic above when they tow her in.
What you think is a rudder is the center board sticking out on the farsided hull.

Well, when you are on any sort of downwind course you'd want the boat to bear away and not release the main, but release the genoa.

It's an Outremer. Cruising cat, but leaning to the performance side.
Center boards, one of them seems retracted (might have fallen back).

A big squall can surely flip a cat if it's not reefed...
