This is also what I believe as well, you may well be able to run some things on a reduced 10 volt bank but I am guessing it will not like seeing 14.5 volts from any of the chargers for to long.

Two banks wired in series that is 2 banks of 3 x 4 volt will yield 2 x 12 volt banks, these two banks are then in Parallel giving you 12v a 900 Ah.

The advantage of this over the 6 x 2 volt set up...
