Another option is to fly into San Jose CR and then on to Bocas. Avoids the flight/very long road travel from PC to Bocas.

Another upside to the Rio is that its in Guatemala, amazing country, I've travelled all over Guate for almost a decade now and still find great experiences there. Finally made it to the kite festival...
