Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

40 knots according to news reports quoting from the crew, so I guess we now know what the limit for these boats is, - 40 knots and they have to pack up and go home.

On another matter the tracker...

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

The "oldie but goodie" is the stated reason for the retirement, they are going bloody quick with a broken main.

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

Perhaps their engine stopped?

Seriously, they are heading north at 17 knots, so doesn't appear to be a significant gear issue?

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

Not quite, the event requires an aquatic event permit issued by NSW Waterways, conditions of the issue of the permit revolve around, amongst other things, the RRS category of the race and the...

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

I am a bit over the hardest ocean race in the world dribble, surely the boats going round the world in the deep southern ocean drake passage etc have it a bit tougher, and no weather forecast can...

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

In any event Boxing day looks fine and the overnight is 25 knot southerly coming in - hardly anything to get exited about. But still a few days out.

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

But what is your substantive point.

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

You are getting a bit strident here and that does no one any good service. I have read it, many many times, I use it and the Coronial Findings on the Malu Sara incident as bases for advising firms...

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

6 people died, and I don't think the CYCA had much to do with it one way or the other. 3 died in a life raft after there beautiful old timber boat sank, they were in a long keel heavy displacement...

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016

Re: Sydney To Hobart 2015-2016
