Re: Polyester resin shrinkage. Is this a real concern?

It's a roller either a metallic one with grooves or with plastic "brush" to force the air bubbles from CSM. With fabrics you can squeeze with spackle knife or similar to do the same and at the same...

Re: Polyester resin shrinkage. Is this a real concern?

Re: Polyester resin shrinkage. Is this a real concern?

Time saving? Not true in this scale as you can laminate first...

Re: Polyester resin shrinkage. Is this a real concern?

Dunno about warm climates but I'm now using the last batches of West drum bought 12 years ago stored in my celler in about +15C and still good.
Epoxy resin creates crystals when stored longer times...

Re: Polyester resin shrinkage. Is this a real concern?

For fairing buy micro ballons (adds volume and easier sanding, not for high stress) and silica ie cap-o-sil (prevents sagging) and mix with the epoxy. You can use also other "additives" like talcum...

Re: Polyester resin shrinkage. Is this a real concern?

Re: Polyester resin shrinkage. Is this a real concern?

Besides the shrinkage is not equall to all directions. If it were think what would happen for a boat laminated in a mould, just pop of so fast as the resin cures :D
But instead it's practically only...
