On the subject of capsize, and hull strength. If I was looking at two boats, one with 3/4" fiberglass, and one with 1" fiberglass, I would pick the 1" one.

Not that I wouldn't think the 3/4" one...

In MY opinion, cored hulls have there place, BUT only if the builder takes a couple of precautions.

1. Use closed cell foam as the core material....Wood rots, fast or slow, it rots.

Something to keep in mind a full keel boat, (with no overhangs), that is being activly steered, is unlikely to sideslip down a wave leaving the beam to the breaking seas.

I heven't seen a boat that has a capsize ratio less than 1 so that leaves any boat with a 1-2% chance of capsize?

I prefer NOT to be in a sea of 20-30ft breaking waves. I am also not likely to...
