A megawatt solar array that costs $10's of millions, and only produces usable power only a few hours a day, in no way compares to a 40 gigawatt nuclear plant that produces steady power 24 hours a day...

I'm pretty sure if Australia wanted to go nuclear, and had a few billion extra, they could easily send a few dozen of their top scientists to nuclear university in the US, and have working technology...

The difference is, we only need a few dozen nuclear plants, and can build them at the same time.

Solar cells are built, they are manufactured at the molecular level in a semiconductor plant.

It takes 10 years to build a nuclear plant.

Solar for the whole planet will take 50 to 70 years, and cover a great deal of the surface. And cost hundreds of trillions, need to be replaced every 10...

Still waiting for temperature data.

Mt Kilimanjaro's ice levels were found to be from reduced rainfall not increased temperatures.

It is still way below freezing at the peak.
