If you need a driver license to navigate a boat as here in Germany e.g. for any boat with engines more than 15 horse-power you will not get a driver license when color blind.

I second the proposal of stevead and it does not help to describe the actual status of OpenCPN. In my opinion OpenCPN should be updated for this. Fortunately we have more GNSS systems available today...

We should not expect many OpenCPN users will use a smartphone as GPS receiver. So I guess some more investigation is needed to find out how the standalone receivers of multiple navigation...

Especially I am curious about modern devices which provide old US-GPS, Glonass, Galileo and mixed data of this.

iPad and iPhone runs iOS as operating system while the Apple laptops runs the macOS operating system. There exists an OpenCPN version for macOS but not for iOS.

Since 15. May there is no update in the code seen.
The famous tracker database counts more than 2600 entries.

That is not true, almost not for the macOS version.
Instead of fixing bugs there are invented new functions barely needed by most people. And what it worse updates with new functions shows again...

I have archived several versions of 3.0.x, 3.1.x, 3.2.x and 3.3.x.
However these old versions uses the outdated wxWidgets...
