Yes.

And in any event in the UK boat registration does not automatically give title.

I would also keep copies of all bills paid since the death......on the off chance someone does try to claim ownership they would also get the bills or half of them. With boats time will soon make...

We are talking about the law..... Right or wrong does not come into it. Lol. Fair is always a matter of opinion - usually self serving.

Or you could see TWO lawyers!

The first with all the paperwork. The second without any inconvenient paperwork (eg if the bill of sale is not helpful) and use him to communicate to anyone claiming...

Regarding the act as if it is yours approach (you paid for it - it is yours), if the boat is on a jointly owned mooring (or the mooring fees are sent to you both) then change that, and if needed move...

Plus 1 on the act like you own it.

Am no lawyer, but as you paid for it (and have evidence of the money transfers) then you can a) prove you own it and b) no one can prove otherwise!
