Current thinking is Tohatsu 30's. A bit heavier (only about 15kg each though) than the Hondas, and have 3 cylinders and fuel injection, so should be smooth and economical.

He had 2 types of electric drives. IIRC the first were E-Power motors. They were very poorly built, suffered speed control issues and finally water ingress.

The Torqueedo's were only barely...

I'm currently working on this boat, repairing it from extensive damage it received when it was blown off it's mooring by cyclone Oswald.

The Torqueedos are long gone, they were a dismal failure,...

Sound like for what you want, a 4 stroke outboard would be ideal.

There's a 3 cylinder Tohatsu 30 at around 75kg that looks good.

You could be right. Wild Oats 11 has a 150hp engine, and it only uses that for "sailing".

IMO it's just a reflection on how people use boats these days - generally on weekends and holidays, so time limited. There's a percieved need to be able to get to places in a timeframe regardless of...
