just incidentally here in penryn,where i live on one of my boats i'm surrounded by wooden luggers and pilot cutters. probably know some of the same people if you have ever been to falmouth:smile: |

holding there is good in sand of about 10m, wind is generally steady from ne -ene ,but can be gusty sometimes. some boats use a kedge as well if there is a bit of swell curving round into the bay... |

the square sail will come in handy if going to tobago from the cape verdes with ENE winds,run the sheets back to the tiller and the boat should steer herself:smile: |

grenada,st lucia and antigua all have good flight connections to the uk with BA. prickly bay would be the closest to the airport by taxi 15-20 mins antigua about 40 mins from falmouth harbour st... |

as an alternate or after tobago my choice would be prickly bay in grenada. easy to sail into and out of without an engine,customs are also,just up from the dinghy dock, as are a small super market... |

man of war bay,tobago idyllic jungle and peaks,customs and immigration just back from the dinghy jetty. can easily sail on and off your anchor in the large protected bay. can be slightly rolly,but... |
