no the only cruising couple i know who have a bowman 40 in falmouth are "fiddlers green"? ann hammick and her partner who write the atlantic cruising guides

lots of mud around here!
and if it is the same guy "tino",who owns the lovely green stich and glue carvel gaffer,i had to rescue him the other year when he got stuck between tides here in the creek....

yes i think i have met him on Gleaner,we are part of that muddy beach crowd of boat builders and liveaboards,notable among the community are luke powell,spike davies,leo goulden of the youtube samson...

just incidentally here in penryn,where i live on one of my boats i'm surrounded by wooden luggers and pilot cutters.
probably know some of the same people if you have ever been to falmouth:smile:

holding there is good in sand of about 10m, wind is generally steady from ne -ene ,but can be gusty sometimes.

some boats use a kedge as well if there is a bit of swell curving round into the bay...

probably the best guide you could get for you is one of the early ones by don streets,who describes sailing in to many anchorages in the cariibean engineless .

the square sail will come in handy if going to tobago from the cape verdes with ENE winds,run the sheets back to the tiller and the boat should steer herself:smile:

grenada,st lucia and antigua all have good flight connections to the uk with BA.
prickly bay would be the closest to the airport by taxi 15-20 mins
antigua about 40 mins from falmouth harbour

as an alternate or after tobago my choice would be prickly bay in grenada.
easy to sail into and out of without an engine,customs are also,just up from the dinghy dock, as are a small super market...

man of war bay,tobago
idyllic jungle and peaks,customs and immigration just back from the dinghy jetty.
can easily sail on and off your anchor in the large protected bay.
can be slightly rolly,but...

from what i have heard you need to go on the customs dock on arrival,and loud music carries on till the early hours
