I don't see any mention of OpenCPN not supporting Windows 8 there... What I see is that the docs are not updated to reflect W8. The few reports we got say it DOES work on W8 and I can confirm it... |

Bill... try to run some other "classic" gps app like gpsinfo (https://www.usglobalsat.com/store/downloads/GPSInfo.zip) rather than the Metro toys to figure out the port. Unfortunately I have not seen... |

Bill... You can write into that field, just fill in the port your GPS is on if it was not detected and offered in the dropdown with choices. Pavel |
