First, you can ZIP the log to make it way smaller. To post it, you can use the standard CF trick - rename it to .doc and then attach, the size limit there is much friendlier...

The location of the logfile is displayed on the About dialog - more at the end of Installing OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage (https://opencpn.org/ocpn/installing_opencpn)

What exactly was the error you got? Screenshot? I suppose you are talking about vector ENC charts and using Windows, right? OpenGL or not? Could you post your logfile?
