Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

Unfortunately the article is a bit "salesy" but it does give an insight to reasoning behind design. Thanks Peter. The mast geometry and support structure is quite different between L400 and the new...

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

I doubt whether Lagoon or VPLP would be involved. Besides, we are well endowed with forum experts who regularly criticise these designs and obviously know much more than anyone employed by these...

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

Not sure exactly what you are referring to, but haven't seen much in metal except davit brackets. The mast compression post that you mention is a heavy fibreglass beam type structure and there are...

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

Yes, Gord, you are quite right.

The parent conglomerate is called "Group Beneteau". One of the companies it owns, or financially controls is CNB. This company manufacturers "Beneteau " brand as...

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

At last, a post from the anti-Lagoon "marine surveyor"!

Once again he shows his ignorance and provides more misinformation. Lagoon catamarans are manufactured by CNB (Beneteau ) not Jeanneau or...

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

Thanks Arsenelupiga,

Very informative and well explained. There has been more BS, biased crap and misinformation about Lagoon bulkheads on this forum than any other topic. Except anchors!
All...

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

It's only an opinion, but I don't consider myself biased.(!) Unlike other forum contributers, I have posted just as much about Lagoon (or catamaran) problems as I have posted about their positives....

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

I have not studied the construction methodology of all Lagoon models, but believe me, I know every inch of mine. No structural bulkheads on a L400 are bedded in Plexus, they are glassed in.

I...

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

It gets worse! If you are going to provide links to other forums, please read them first. As Arsenelupiga said, the "crack" in the bulkhead did not exist. The original poster could not tell the...

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

You have some knowledge or data to support that "most owners just pay the repair bill...."?

The "famous Lagoon 500" sank, if that is the correct term, due to gross operator error. Or more...
