Found some more in this thread using a DEGEN with JVcomm JVComm32 - FAX SSTV RTTY SYNOP NAVTEX program...

I must be honest that is my main reason.
Many is the boat I have been on that had HF but owners and crew including myself had no idea how to make it work.
I always wondered why the new radios...

What I'd like to know is why this $500 ($1000 new ) unit which is ham that supposedly does marine is such a neat compact unit

$2500 vs $500, no real contest in my eyes.

Sat calls are hideously expensive but I reckon you'll only have it connected on the cheapest plan while on passage and then get a data sim for your...
