I guess you are using the word "plate" liberally, but just to be clear, Anodizing is not a plating. It's the intentional creation of protective oxide layer from the aluminum itself. |

Are you sure it was anodized? DONT sand it! Leave it bare. Sanding the anodized finish is destroying the best aluminum protection scheme there is. The standard acid wash, Zinc Chromate, etc is... |
