Just an FYI: don't sand the bulkheads (or any ply) much at all. You will break thru the thin teak veneer and it will never look right again.....

are you trying to get liability only insurance? Do you have car insurance? if so they may insure your recreational boat (non liveaboard) for a low rate with no survey... I bought the beat up old...

Sea Tow wanted $600 to move my boat on the ICW about one mile... and I had the lower level insurance with them!
You may be better buying an outboard bracket (could always use it to store dingy...
