Re: Optimal Charging Regimen - Wet Cells
12.4VDC is 25% discharged, not 50%. 50% is 12.2VDC. No, that's not necessarily an indication of the need to equalize the batteries or of a loss of capacity. Why? For one thing, your Link... |

Re: Optimal Charging Regimen - Wet Cells
US Battery recommends an absorption voltage of 14.4. They then talk about a "finish charge" of about 15.3V, same as their recommendation for an equalization voltage. In practice, what will... |

Re: Optimal Charging Regimen - Wet Cells
The problem with US Battery's charging recommendations is that they are geared to shore-based situations (like solar) and not to boats. They are totally impractical for boats, IMHO. Like, who's... |

Re: Optimal Charging Regimen - Wet Cells
Sterling makes an excellent very smart charger which has been winning rewards and turning heads. Unfortunately, the largest in the series is 60A. But, it's power-factor corrected and will easily... |

Re: Optimal Charging Regimen - Wet Cells
I agree with the comment about your daily usage, i.e., when you become an active cruiser you're more likely to have a daily consumption in excess of 100AH. Re: getting a full charge, it's kind of... |

Re: Optimal Charging Regimen - Wet Cells
Akio, Good questions. You have exactly the same setup I have with six T-105's for my house bank. What I believe you're getting at is charging efficiency, i.e., the percentage of applied... |
