Please re-read the thread.

The crews of the boats at Hemingways' got evacuated. I can't say if all crews or just some boats. The part of the town to where they got evacuated is/was without power...

This would be the case, I suppose, if Cuba were ever considered in their cruising plan. Cuba became an emergency run-away destination.

As far as ham is considered in this particular scenario:

- there was no power in La Habana overnight,
- ham aerials may be wiped out together with other infrastructure,

More news. Clients evacuated from Hemingway Marina.

We manage to keep in touch now via the mobile network.

Wind sensor at the airport shows way less than forecast.

The forecast is 'good'...

I do not work over ssb/ham. This is so because I cannot have an ssb transceiver while traveling (as far as I know, there is no www/ssb interface). Besides, this particular boat does not have a ship...

BTW text (sms) cost from the EU to Cuba is 1EUR each (USD 1,15), includes taxes.

My client says 'Iridium suppressed'. Not sure if this implies the Customs officer took it or there is a jammer device at Hemingway.

The Internet there does not work right now. Possibly...
