I view a crutch as just a standing support, a gallows as wider... I liked the Gallows on a couple of my boats

I have/am about to install a boom crutch, it is in the ideal position to attach my yet to be made dodger.

Is there any reason I shouldn't attach the dodger, or bimini, to the boom crutch?
