In my experience rescuers will go to many lengths to avoid embarrassing rescuees , especially at the time of , or near the rescue when everything is emotional fragile

I think the comparison was in state of the art integrated systems on modern yachts. As compared to non glass cockpits on 747. In that case it's an apt comparison

I agree, what happens today, is that production boats are so capable and the support system on board so advanced ( I heard a quote recently, that the average yacht today has more advanced systems...
