Re: Wiring upgrade case study

So, here is the wiring diagram. The red wires are the way the system is set up now, the black wires are what I'm thinking of doing about the 1-2-Both-Off switch. For whatever reason, this seems to...

Re: Wiring upgrade case study

So I’ve got a wiring diagram which I will post soon, but I realize that how the battery selector switch is wired is not my main question (which I took to be the reason people were asking for a wiring...

Re: Wiring upgrade case study

My first discover: I got an assortment pack of terminals, and my smallest ring terminal is a #10. I also got a 20A Blue Sea terminal block, but the largest terminal it holds is a #6. Frustrating,...

Re: Wiring upgrade case study

Thanks for the reply. And I am absolutely not trying to shoot the messenger, I really appreciate the message. I made two assumptions that I’m happy to be corrected on: the panel is not so...

Re: Wiring upgrade case study

Not sure why you say this is not an OEM panel, it’s got a Catalina logo on it, and looks like panels I’ve seen from other Catalinas. Are you seeing something I’m not? And does it matter?

The...

Re: Wiring upgrade case study

Seconding that thank you. I assumed they were compliant boxes based on the layout, which clearly was naive. I see that Catalina Direct sells a battery box they claim is sized for the compartment on...

Re: Wiring upgrade case study

Thanks, all. This is exactly the kind of discussion I’m looking for.

This morning’s discovery is the crimp connector coming off the middle switch, one from the left. It’s not visible in the...

Wiring upgrade case study

I’m in the midst of installing new solar and instruments on my Catalina, and I’m finding a bunch of things I’m concerned about. Rather than posting a bunch of threads, I though it might me helpful...
