I checked online and a 10kw Gen uses .88 g/hr so your calc is close. Now lets assume your main engine is already running and you turn on an 2nd alternator, woulds a good guess than be 12kw of power...

How many HP does a diesel motor put out with one gallon? trying to calculate amps out per gallon.
