Recycle back into the sea, of course, with the rest of the gray water. :D

Same as we do on land. Nothing in the waste treatment process on land does anything significant to washing machine waste....

In these latitudes (I'm above 60N at present), a dryer is a Godsend, more important than the washer.

The essence of what I said is that U.S. split phase 220v is not compatible with rest of the world 220-230v, and that is true, useful to the OP, and certainly not "dangerous".

Once more, you don't have "square feet" on a 40 something foot sailboat - you have bits and pieces of available volume which are constrained by height as well as length and width. You simply won't...

Yes, sorry, our 220 is "split phase" -- I misspoke. But in any case, our 220v is not compatible with theirs. The rest of the world with few exceptions uses 220 or 230 volts (not 170), single phase....

Are you planning to do your circumnavigations on a 26' S2? That will be interesting trying to get a stacked washer/dryer on one of those.

Think about cubic feet, not square feet.

The usual solution is not stacked, but combination washer/dryer -- so that washing and drying is done in the same drum. That reduces throughput because...
