Ok that kind of makes sense and is probably why the other program I have uses the RNC formats (ENC is not an option).

Can you force OpenCPN to convert all the charts because it doesn't seem to be...

Based on the reply from bdbcat, I switched the charts from ENC to RNC only. It runs much quicker now and I don't see the create file dialog messages. What should I be using ENC, RNC or have both...

I can download the files again but I just did that yesterday prior to starting OpenCPN. I did not receive any errors during the download. I updated regions 1, 5, and 7 for both RNC and ENC. Just...

Just curious. How often should the dialog box OpenCPN S57 SENC File Create....... pop up. Seems every move I make is causing the system to render a chart (if that is what this is doing).

Seems I can consistently generate the OpenCPN Create SENC error (document uploaded earlier) when there's a dialog box saying SENC Creating... That's also when it seems OpenCPN locks up.

I found the log files but it appears the forum has a size limit. I tried both .txt and .doc file extensions but in both cases the file is about 1mb. So I can't upload the file.
