Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

Here's another one of those exploded 12V batteries, that can not explode according to some....

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

BTW those expensive gel cells better be made by Sonnenschein and their lifespan is 20 years.

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

He did not, you're trolling, not allowed on this forum BTW.

You are ignorant, 6Vdc cells don't exist, you're just rambling. And how could a 6V battery be better than 2V cells when it is made out...

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

I just checked my Victron Quattro and I can set my absorption voltage to 12V which is perfect for 5 cells in series just like 6 cells have 14.4V. This means that I am right and can run a battery made...

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

You're in an endless and mostly false loop Rod, but I'll comment anyway:

1. a single 12V battery has just as many cells as two 6V batteries in series, as three 4V batteries in series or six single...

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

I have the 6CT's and they perform like a dream so I'm sure the 4CT's will make you happy :thumb:

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

Great choice; Lifeline takes a good position between affordability and quality. They even have that battery in the much better single-cell configuration for just a couple dollars more but you need...

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

No it doesn't work like that. You act like it's just a difference of opinion but it isn't: it is facts and laws of nature that you choose to ignore. It has nothing to do with who I agree with in this...

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

This is the difference: when I read a post like this one from Tasso then I immediately recognize that he understands the science behind this. It is obvious he has studied or worked in this field,...

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

Pete, (I'm using your name but really address everybody in general so don't take this personally) those of us saying a series string is best completely agree with a 12V battery. For us, that is 6x 2V...

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

I really hope that people reading this are starting to realize that series connection is the better option and have learned to mostly ignore the ramblin going on here.
If your bank is only 12V,...

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

Why not just skip posting when the subject is not something you are versed in? Your statement is wrong: jumpering 2V cells has been done since forever and works just fine.

When you have parallel...

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

As long as you have anything in parallel, all batteries should be the same. You can't just replace one a couple years later. Only in the all-series with 2V cells you can do this without any problems....

Re: Wiring In Series (pro vs con)

The best thing you can do is wiring in series. There are 900Ah Lifeline 2V batteries: GPL-6CT-2V. Six of those in series is your optimal configuration :thumb:
