I ran a quick experiment. I put in a short route directly upwind. Asked it to do routing with and without motoring enabled.
With motoring enabled, it came up with a route directly into the wind......

Try turning off motoring. You have asked the program to find the fastest way to get between two points, motoring might be the solution if it enabled and has parameters that enable that solution. I...
