I used to teach my scuba students that they should never dive a beach where surfers were surfing. Maybe the same rule should apply to sailboats: never transiting a bar that's being actively surfed. |

This may be because you're sailing the wrong side of the continent. In my home waters on the windward side of North America, if you're in the ocean, you're off a lee shore 19 days out of 20. |
