that is correct. making a joke, complete with smiley. I was assuming that everyone would know that proper chainplates should be built of mahogany.

Yeah, but you'd have to paint the carbon fiber to protect against UV. A better idea would be to go with teak chainplates which you'd only have to varnish every spring. :D
