No doubt. Plenty of sharks in the Gulf. I'd honestly be a bit freaked floating around out there in my PFD. My personal preference would be to keep the boat floating. Not much discussion here about...

You are probably spot on. Man, I hate the short wave period in the Gulf. We've turned back a couple of times ourselves, trying to make our way along that coast.
