I'm well aware of the older systems, though I've not seen one. This is a similar application. Direct drive diesel is completely out of the question here. The only alternative is two...

Thanks........ Details on the drive system would be appreciated. Does the outboard leg system make sense to you?. A prop shaft in the hull does not work for the design I have in mind.

To put this thread in context, I posted it on the Multihull forum originally. My idea was to use it for a small voyaging catamaran. Not a heavy monohull or a "condo cat". A light ply or foam...

In a SAILboat, the idea of a prop shaft and prop, even a folding one sticking out there seems silly. The alternative generally being an outboard.
