Any more clues than "you didnt care for it". Its not much to go on.
Maybe it froze you lettice? Left the icecream soft? Sucked your batteries down? Or maybe the chemistry just wasnt there?

Again agreed no such thing as free anything. I guess Solar power when your batteries are topped off could be termed more correctly already paid for.

Yeh ok sure, as you correctly say nothing is 'free'.

Correct you do need to buy Cold plates, batteries, solar panels, diesel engine with alternators or EU220i's etc.

TXVs and Phase change aside.

Flywheel effect of Eutectic is part of the story.

The reason that can work so well is 'coldness' can be made and stored when energy is cheap, or free like Solar....

Yes true. You need a correct compostion of the eutectic solution, ie correct ratio of glycol or salt to water to get the phase change to match the temperature set point. This could be messed with to...

Re block of cold stone vs Eutectic plate. Eutectic plate works the same as the old block of ice from the ice man. It is a phase change, ie from solid to liquid, Latent heat.
