What has crossing the Atlantic go to do with electric motors though when on a sailing vessel? Pretty much all sailing vessels sail across the Atlantic both ways, unless they have unforeseen issues....

Since the efficiency of an ICE is around 30-37% you're saying 95% of that is lost in the gearbox and final bearings?
