I use a rated galvanised Van Beest shackle to join our tested Galv chain to super high holding power Galv anchor

I won't do it
I anchor daily and am not risking my vessel or my good night...

In oz, SWL on 13mm grade L is 1.7t so closer to 5:1 or 20%

Interesting to see they claim 13mm grade 60+ is good for 167kn or 17000kg breaking load
Our 13mm galv grade L is 8100kg breaking load.

Reason why that is important to us is we have deformed Galv...
