ahh good point! that's a bad example.. but at the same time.. i'm talking to someone selling a running 92' 39' privilege for under 75k...

we read capt Fattys book "buy, outfit, sail"
good read for people trying to get aboard on a budget..

you think we can expect to knock 30-50% off listed price for the right...

it's hard to tell from online pictures/descriptions..

but we find ones that say "circumnav ready"
"turn key"

how much experience do you guys suggest until one can buy a liveaboard?

our captain has his Captains License and over 4 years experience running day trips..

maybe you couldn't pull it off but we will.....

i have noticed great deals in that area.. but we also have some concerns with being US citizens around there.. are my concerns misguided?
have to go through the Suez canal and past a lot of people...

really set on getting to SE Asia.. as fairly inexperienced sailors the task of going from Canada to Thailand sounds a bit much to start..
3-4 months? might have to pay more to be where we wanna...
