Thanks boatbod for your input - my question at post #39 was trying to find out if newer tachometers have had this problem sorted, or will I just be putting back same version which will fail with same...

Hi Journeyman

Measured voltage as you suggested - it is 13.6 volts. Hour meter was working correctly.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Yanmar have changed their part number for replacement tachometer/hour meter from 129271-91210 to 129271-91211-01. Does this mean they have owned up to...
