I like the idea of dragging 50 ft of line both P/S sides or devise a remote turn off for auto pilot that can be attached to your life vest so you can disable the auto pilot bringing the vessel to...

Isn't there a set up on a sail boat that would allow a single handed sailor a way to disable his boat in the event he is swept or falls overboard?...
