Re: Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
Bob, I'm a Verizon subscriber and for northern NYS, it works for me. As I sail down the East coast, I'll continue to use it where I can. As you say, once I leave U.S. waters (and apparently even in... |

Re: Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
Bob, How would this compare with the WiriePro? Looks like the Wirie isn't compatible with cdma sim cards. Is the Sierra Aircard compatible with both GSM and CDMA? |

Re: Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
Does the MiFi enable you to both create your own network as well as connect to others (I think that's what you're saying)? Do you have an external antenna and if so, where's it mounted? I have a... |

Re: Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
Sounds interesting; I'll have to research that. My primary interest is data rather than voice; so, it would need hotspot capability and from what I gather, some devices function as hotspots better... |

Re: Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
Not a clue! But I do think the link Laika recommended is a good one! https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f13/non-emergency-data-comms-offshore-and-onshore-160043.html |

Re: Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
Brilliant, Laika! I didn't realize the Wirie had a sim slot. I assume it operates as a hotspot and that your finding enough unsecured networks to make it worthwhile? Oh...and are you hiring? |

Re: Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
Yes, I've looked at Island Time and as you say, their prices are better; the only question I have with them versus the rogue or the wirie relates to interface ease of use. Either way, I don't want... |

Re: Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
I'm thinking of getting a verizon jetpack (Verizon Jetpack MiFi 6620L Review & Rating | PCMag.com (https://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2474046,00.asp)) and buying sim cards along the way; based on... |

Re: Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
Thanks, I have read their articles on BTC and sim cards through MrSimCard (https://activecaptain.com/newsletters/2016-02-03.php); the coverage sounds good. I'm wondering whether it would pay to... |

Wifi Booster for Bahamas & Caribbean?
I'm debating whether or not to install a wifi booster, i.e. rogue wave or wirie pro. I'll be traveling down the US east coast (ICW), the Bahamas and possibly the Virgin Islands. Are there still... |
