I have to apologize--by roll I meant 360 degree recovered capsize, not oscillation due to heavy seas.

Size (including ballast) is the most important factor in ability to stand up to breaking waves, full stop.

+1 My experience as well. I'm not a good enough sailor to run in the face of a storm, and I've not heard of anyone falling overboard from inside the cabin.
