OP does state 265w 12v panels and I've never seen anything other than 12/24v systems for sale through a number of various retailers, including specialist solar installers.

Parallel will double the amps but keep the voltage the same. So 2x 265w, 12v panels in parallel will give 530w @12v (well 14v but you know we all talk 12v). Putting them in series doubles the volts...
